Where to Find White Induction Cooktops

I’ve been connected with this industry for a long time now, and I’ve noticed that all induction cooktops have black ceramic glass (at least those sold by big retailers). I was wondering why, so I have started to search for the answer.

At first I was thinking that the manufacturers wouldn’t want to produce a white glass for induction hobs because it would be harder to clean, and this would make one of the induction cooktop advantages vanish: “Cleaning is a breeze”. But I have found that this is not the case.

The next step was to create a list of induction ceramic glass manufacturers, which would then lead me to the brands that use white ceramic glass.

The first two manufacturers I found were SCHOTT CERAN and EuroKera. They both showed on their websites that are able to supply white ceramic glass to induction cooktop manufacturers.

SCHOTT CERAN consider the white variation a special material and created it as a response to the US market where people love to have white kitchen furniture and appliances. So they created the Ceran® Arcticfire® brand which is a solid white color ceramic glass cooktop. They also have a creamy colored version called Schott Ceran® Cream.

The next manufacturer is EuroKera, with their collection KeraWhite that has white glass induction cooktop panels. It was launched in 1999 and helps induction cooktop manufacturers to enlighten their customers.

Lets see which products use these white glass control panels.

The first white induction cooktop I found was the IT640ORAW model made by Gorenje, which has very nice data and looks awesome having been designed by Ora-Ito.

Dimensions (width x length x height): 60 cm x 51 cm x 5 cm

The second cooktop also comes from Gorenje and is called the IT65KR model and is designed by Karim Rashid.

This model has the same technical data as the IT640ORAW, but there are some differences apart from the design:

Model
IT65KR (Karim Rashid)
IT65ORAW (Ora-Ito)
Hob frame edges
Aluminum hob frame
Faceted front hob edge
Dimensions of the product (W×H×D)
60 × 5,6 × 51 cm
60 × 4,7 × 51 cm
Gross weight
23.14 Pounds (10,5 kg)
26.45 pounds (12 kg)

The third white induction cooktop I found was an Aurora illuminated cooktop made by Electrolux.

This model is considered to be the “most beautiful cooktop in the world”.

The Aurora model is illuminated and is a piece of art, having a unique design. The manufacturers idea was to create a product that suited styled rooms and the presence of it was to not create a kitchen atmosphere.

Electrolux EW36CC55GW White Hybrid Induction Cooktop

What about Electrolux EW36CC55GW White Hybrid Induction Cooktop? As all the Electrolux models, this cooktop is built on a European heritage of innovation and the main purpose is to create your home just the way you want it.

With a truly unique design and quality that have set the standard in the appliance industry, Electrolux EW36CC55GW is the unit that you need in order to upgrade your kitchen.

If you want to create your kitchen as a place that welcomes family and friends and nourishes the body and soul, you need this Electrolux EW36CC55GW White Hybrid Induction Cooktop.

This is a premium appliance that consists of a combination of electric elements that are compatible with all cookware, and induction elements that are compatible with most cookware.

Now, you can boil water in just 90 seconds and this means meals that are ready and on the table faster than ever before. Enjoy the Exceptional Temperature Control and you will be able to prepare delicate dishes like a professional chef: just make sauce or melt chocolate with the careful precision they require.

You know that induction cooking means that the heat is directly generated in the cookware rather than the surrounding surface, making it both easier to clean and safer than traditional gas or electric cooktops.

Just make sure you have the right pots: most stainless steel and cast iron pots and pans are compatible with induction cooktops, but you can test your pans using a magnet and if it sticks, you can use them on Electrolux cooktop.

With the dual expandable elements, you have the possibility to easily adjust the size of the element to fit your cookware. This provides safer ways to cook and more energy efficient too. This model is delivered with an exclusive limited warranty: 3-year coverage on parts and one year on labor free of charge.

Would anything else suit an all-white kitchen? Could Stainless Steel, Grey or Mirror be a solution?

Even if there are at least two manufacturers of white ceramic glass, it seems that there are not too many options if you are looking for a true white induction range.

But what other options do we have? Are there any light colors for an induction range?

I have found two brands that have a Stainless Steel and Grey option.

The GE Monogram ZHU30RSRSS, which is a 30 inch induction cooktop with 4 cooking elements has digital pan presence, warm sensors and indicators for over heating.

The second option, a grey color, is the Bonita Grey Cooktop by Fago.

This is a 30 inch induction cooktop, with 4 cooking zones, illuminated touch controls, 50W to 2800 W power range, flush installation design and a SCHOTT Ceram glass surface.

Conclusion

It’s clear that if you want a white induction cooktop you don’t have too many choices, and that one of the cooktop listed above is almost 10.000 usd (I’ll let you guess which one ).The others are priced around 1000 to 2000 USD.

Still, I couldn’t answer the question: Why don’t induction cooktop manufacturers make white models at a larger scale? But I do hope to get responses back from them, and if I do, I will write them here.
